ACEE provides a regional center of excellence in relevant, hands-on, field-based environmental education. Headquartered at Brevard College in western North Carolina, the magnificent biodiversity of the southern Appalachians is literally just outside the door. ACEE provides undergraduate research opportunities, environmental research involving high school students and their teachers working together with college students and faculty, a variety of summer environmental programs for college, middle, and high-school students, and the Pisgah Forest Institute (PFI), which provides environmental science workshops for educators.
