ACEE also offers environmental education and research opportunities abroad for both educators and students. During the summer of 2007, the first such ACEE-sponsored trip took place. Brevard College Associate Professor of Geology Dr. Jim Reynolds led a group of about 15 students and educators to Iceland. Participants stayed in well-appointed campgrounds as they hiked and explored the island. In addition to active volcanism and one of the world’s largest icecaps, Iceland harnesses geothermal energy for much of its power needs. CEUs and college credit available. |
